opening multiple browser windows

Hi,

What controls whether a new browser window is opened or the same broswer window is re-launched? I used to be able to open multiple browser windows, but now all windows get re-launched in the same browser window preventing me from having two websites up at the same time. I have IE 5.5 on win98.

Thanks.

hi,

go to tools / internet options in IE.

go to advanced tab.

there in browsing section you should find something like resue windows for launching shortcuts. uncheck it and u r there !!:)

Hi I am a newbie and all thumbs about softwares. Please help. I use to be able to log in to multiple yahoo accounts at one time using IE but since I downloaded the latest version when I open Yahoo Mail or Hotmail all browser windows showed the same ID acct. How do I go back to the old version? thanks.

Thread necromancy strikes again. /me needs to learn to pay more attention to the date on posts before adding a comment.

This thread has really put my advice (http://forums.devshed.com/dev-shed-lounge-26/application-architecture-599345.html) into perspective.

sizablegrin disagrees: I've always had it in perspective. It's in the toilet. What was "toilety" about it? The fact that windows is old in technology years, or that you can install .NET on windows 98?

Cookies, my good man, cookies.

yes but HOW do you change the cookies settings. i tried deleting the cookies but the problems persist. it's even worse now. last time when the browser is closed the account is automatically closed & u have to re log in. now if u forget to LOG OUT. when u clicked hotmail the acct opens back.

jdk thanks for the helpful answer to TS question...really help me a lot(^-^)

Heh, jdk was the guy that introduced me to Devshed in the first place. He was one of the first moderators on the PHP and Perl forum. Good kid, but boy did he have an awful taste in music.
