Installation problems
I have run into a wall trying to install MySQL. I have done it before without any problems, but this time I cannot get it right.
I'm installing MySQL 3.22.27 from a source RPM on Red Hat 5.x
I didn't get any errors when installing but mysqld just won't run.
The following error message shows up in the error log:
"000206 0:35:09 /usr/sbin/mysqld: Can't find file: 'host.ISM' (errno: 2)"
The files for mysql is installed in /var/lib/mysql and there are no *.ISM files in it at all only .MYD, .MYI and .frm files.
I can't find anything about this in the documentation or on any site about MySQL so any help at all would be appreciated.

Hi,
Did you do a /scripts/mysql_install_db in your mysql install directory (/usr/local/mysql or something)?
This should install the default database.
