unable to fix disk quota issue at mazzaschi.com

I've filled Contact Form yearlier today but never got any ticket and/or reponse.

Anyway, this is a probem that my client has. Somebody accidentally sent an enormous message to andy@mazzaschi.com late Saturday. Now SiteManager shows 106% od Disk Quota. And I see the same kind of information by using quota command:
Disk quotas for user mazzaschi (uid 32207):
Filesystem blocks quota limit grace files quota limit grace
10.3.1.10:/wdclnx32//home
271360* 256000 271360 5589 25000 26500

Now accounts seems to be locked, so I'd like to resolve this issue by deleting a big file.

However, du command doesn't show any big files. E-Mail portion of SiteManager shows 0% used out of 35MB allowed. How do I delete a big file? Can you guys help me with this issues? My client is getting desperate.

Paul

Can you see it through the webmail front end?

webmail for andy@mazzaschi.com shows "There are no messages in this mailbox". All other email accounts won't let me in showing :"Login failed for some reason".

paul2,

if you are sure this is because of a large e-mail (that has not yet been downloaded) what you can do is SSH in to the account and then cd /var/spool/mail and then rm loginname where loginname is the name of the POP3 that has the large file in it (you could check by doing a du -s in this directory to make sure this is where the huge file resides). What that will do is delete all e-mails in the loginname mailbox that have not yet been downloaded off that particular POP3 account - so be careful with that... You could lose e-mail you don't want to, but this is a pretty severe case. Alternatively, you could try to zip the loginname file and then remove the unzipped version. That might free up enough space for you to not be over your disk space quota (and perhaps "unlock" your account). Also, if you had a 35MB quota set, the large e-mail should have been rejected. Wonder why it didn't do that.

design64,

the biggest file in the /var/spool/mail directory is only 20M -- way below the 35MB limit. I agree -- the big email message should have been rejected. I talked to Technical Support folks, they suggetsed increasing (temporarily) the account size as the ONLY way to fix this issue. But now I'm getting "connection to setUID server has failed" error message when trying to type "quota" on the box

paul2,

It could be that they're making those changes right now, or, more likely, that your server is currently down: http://netstatus.westhost.com/ I frequently get that same error when my www server is down but SSH is up...
